I should have sent a re-supply package to La Posta Quemada and avoid the whole logistical nightmare of going into Tucson. They have chicken wraps, nachos, that type of food. I really enjoyed my mellow day at Colossal Cave-I paid for my camping at the entry kiosk and then walked up to the Cave and took a tour. I have to get ready for a back pack trip to Scotland in April. So I decided to go into Tucson and cut my trip short and finish the AZT next spring. Although AZT thru hikers had made it through the new section of trail according to reports on the web, I had met some thru hikers who road walked from Colossal Cave to avoid the closure, not wanting the stress of dealing with a ranger encounter. I decided not to go into Tucson, get re-supplied, then come back out to the trail north of here, which was officially closed (although the trail was finished, Saguaro National Park was not letting anyone use the trail until the official opening date of April 1) and then get back home by April 1st.
